Each leg is widened to 4.7 inches (12 cm), so the table sits firmly on the floor and supports up to 882 lb (400 kg). The legs sit toward the outer edges, which leaves more legroom under the top. On the larger sizes the top is 33.5 inches (85 cm) wide, so people across from each other have a comfortable distance between them, and the 83 inch (210 cm) size works well for gatherings.
