A record cabinet that turns to meet you. The Muse is a vinyl record storage cabinet that sits on a sculpted stainless steel pedestal and rotates a full 360 degrees, so a gentle push turns it toward the sofa, the desk or the bed. It is built from white oak veneer over wood, with clear acrylic side panels and a round front panel in woven paper speaker cloth, a mix of warm, clear and textured materials that gives it the look of a vintage speaker. The top measures 18.1 × 16.5 inches (46 × 42 cm), roomy enough to use as a record player stand or to hold a projector; turn the cabinet and you change where the projector points. It fits in the living room, beside a desk, or in the bedroom.

Open shelves made for vinyl. Below the top are two open shelves, a lower one 15 inches (38 cm) tall and an upper one 7.1 inches (18 cm) tall, each 16.5 inches wide and 15 inches deep (42 × 38 cm). Common 7, 10 and 12 inch records all fit, and so do books and magazines. Everything stays in view and within reach. The stainless steel base keeps the weight low for a steady stance.

Vintage speaker aesthetics, a sculptural piece for the home

01 / THE DESIGN

Vintage speaker aesthetics, a sculptural piece for the home

The design borrows from vintage speaker cabinets and turns the language of audio equipment into furniture. The upper body is square and clean lined, with a round panel of woven fabric set into the front that reads like a speaker membrane. Underneath, a metal pedestal shaped like a horn lets the whole cabinet turn. It lifts the room into something warmer and more considered without asking for much floor.

Open, layered storage that keeps your records in order

02 / THE STORAGE

Open, layered storage that keeps your records in order

The body is built as open compartments at staggered heights, sized to take records of every common diameter. Each one has a place, and you can see all of it at once. The 18.1 x 16.5 in (46 x 42 cm) top is wide enough to hold a projector or a speaker steadily, so the cabinet stores, displays and supports your equipment at the same time. For anyone who cares about what they listen to and watch at home, that is three jobs in one footprint.

03 / THE MATERIALS

Four materials, layered for depth

Wood, stainless steel, acrylic and woven paper cloth meet in one piece, warm against cool, clear against textured. The detail has dimension to it, and it breaks the flatness of furniture made from a single material. Vintage texture on minimal lines goes with most rooms, which is why it works as a side table next to the sofa, as an extension of a desk, or as a nightstand in the bedroom.

04 / THE ROTATION

Turns a full 360 degrees, use it from any angle

The horn shaped stainless steel base turns a full circle, smoothly and without a dead spot, with no catching and no wobble. Put a projector on top and you can change the throw angle freely to suit where people are sitting and how the room is laid out. Day to day, a light push turns the cabinet toward whatever you are reaching for, so you never have to move the whole thing.
