Wente Floating Bed Frame, Japanese Low Profile Bed with Removable Upholstered Headboard or Headboardless Floor Bed
The Wente sits low, just 8.3 inches (21 cm) off the floor, on legs set back from the edges, so the frame seems to float. With nothing reaching out to the floor at the corners, even a small bedroom feels roomier. There are no side rails or footboard either, so fitted sheets go on in seconds and you don't bump your shins in the dark.
Choose your headboard, or skip it:
Upholstered headboard: a thick, padded one-piece backrest with no seams to dig into your back when you sit up to read. The padded headboard rises 21.3 inches (54 cm) above the bed deck, the surface your mattress sits on, and Its top stands up to 36.6 inches (93 cm) off the floor. Paired with a 7.9 inch (20 cm) mattress, it leaves a tall, cushioned backrest above the mattress to lean against when you sit up to read.
Headboardless: a clean, Japanese-style floor bed frame that you can push against a wall or place in the middle of the room.
The headboard is removable. Take it off and the bed works as a tatami-style low bed. The cover comes off for washing.
Soft where you lean, solid where you sleep:
The headboard is covered in a linen blend twill and filled with high-density foam, so it's soft but still firm enough to lean against. Underneath, the bed deck is a 1 inch (25 mm) thick plywood panel with a North American white oak veneer. The side frame is 1.4 inches (36 mm) thick, and the center beam and legs are solid beech. The whole frame is reinforced to cut down on wobbling and creaking.
Floating look: set-back legs and an 8.3 in (21 cm) low profile.
Removable headboard: turns the bed into a tatami-style floor bed. The cover is washable.
Upholstery: linen blend twill with high-density foam.
Frame: white oak veneer bed deck, 1 in thick, with a solid beech center beam and legs.
Ventilated, split bed deck for airflow and stability.
No side rails or footboard, so sheets are easy to change.
Robot vacuum friendly clearance underneath.
