Triple Dresser, Mid Century Modern 59 Inch Bedroom Chest with Nine Drawers and Vented Fronts
Most bedrooms end up with a dresser plus a second thing to hold the overflow. This is 59.1 in (150 cm) across with three columns of three, so the overflow gets a column of its own. Total capacity comes to roughly 116 liters, and our own fill test shows what that means: 60 pairs of socks, 40 shirts or pairs of trousers, three full sets of bedding, 30 ties and accessories, 20 bottles of toiletries. The three tiers step down in depth so the drawer matches what goes in it, 3.2 in (8.1 cm) inside at the top for socks, underwear and jewelry, 4.0 in (10.1 cm) in the middle for shirts and folded trousers, 5.6 in (14.1 cm) at the bottom for sweaters, bedding and bulk goods. All nine give you 17.0 x 10.8 in (43.2 x 27.5 cm) of clear floor, and the top row is faced in muted green with open louvers cut into it, so air passes through instead of sitting inside.
Mid century color blocking with steel, and a top that stays usable.
Warm wood against muted green is a pairing out of the 1950s and 60s. Slim stainless steel posts are let into the front corners, and the drawers open on long carved pulls shaped in a shallow curve, so no hardware stands proud of the front. The finish is three base coats and a topcoat. At 27.6 in (70 cm) high the dresser reads as a horizontal plane along the wall rather than a block standing in the room, and the 15.7 in (40 cm) top handles a full size espresso machine, a lighted vanity mirror and a tray of bottles, or a lamp and a stack of books. It works across the foot of a bed, along the wall beside it, behind a dining table as a sideboard, or in a living room under art.
Pressed panels are not in it.
Carcase, drawer boxes and fronts are all thermally modified poplar, heat treated in a sealed kiln so the wood stays dimensionally stable and handles humidity. Nothing in it is plywood or particleboard, so there is no panel adhesive and no added formaldehyde. A third party lab tested this construction and found formaldehyde not detected.
Flat to the floor, flush to the wall, and it arrives assembled.
It sits on a full length plinth 2.4 in (6 cm) thick instead of legs, spreading the load across its whole width. The plinth is set back so the dresser clears a baseboard, and a cord channel in the top lets a lamp or charger wire disappear behind it. Nine drawers get used constantly, so they ride on metal undermount rails with a soft close, quiet and even all the way out. No flat pack, no hardware bag. Put it where you want it and start filling it.
